What Holmstead keeps
Holmstead keeps what it needs to put you back in the world where you left it, and nothing for advertising.
Who runs it
Holmstead is made and hosted by mixtape.works — Human Hygiene Kft., 1163 Budapest, Datolya utca 40., Hungary, company registration number 01-09-464537. The full company details are at mixtape.works/imprint.
If you sign in
Signing in goes through your mixtape.works account. Holmstead receives the account’s identifier, its confirmed e-mail address and its name, and uses them to know which player you are. Other players see your name — or, if your account has none, the part of your address before the @ — never the whole address.
If you play as a guest
A guest gets a made-up name such as "Guest 1234" and no e-mail address. To stop a script from making thousands of guests, the server counts new guests per network address for an hour, in memory only; the address is never written down. A guest unseen for 30 days who owns nothing is deleted.
What the game keeps
Your player's name, where your jarl and boat last were, your buildings, units and your town's name, and the trees you felled. Other players see your name, your town and everything you build — that is the game. Chat lines go to the players online at that moment and are not stored.
Cookies
Three, all first-party, none for advertising or analytics: one that keeps you signed in for 30 days, one that lasts ten minutes while you sign in with a mixtape.works account, and one that remembers the language you chose. Settings such as sound or picture quality stay in your own browser.
Newsletter
If you subscribe in the footer, the mixtape.works account service keeps your e-mail address, the list, your language and the dates you confirmed or left, to send you Holmstead news (and mixtape news if you ticked that box) until you unsubscribe. Nothing is sent before you confirm, every mail has a link to leave, and the mails go out through Amazon SES in the EU.
Nobody else
The game, its fonts and its 3D engine are all served from holmstead.mixtape.works. No advertising, no tracking scripts, no third-party fonts. Our network provider, Cloudflare, carries the traffic.
Your data, or its removal
Write to support@mixtape.works and a person answers. We will send you what Holmstead keeps about your player, or delete it — your player, buildings and units with it.
